The legendary Murahachibu live performance held at Kyoto Kaikan First Hall in 1972 has been remastered using AI and released simultaneously on limited LP and CD!
The live performance from this day was first recorded on the CD "Murahachibu BOX -LIMITED EDITION-" (currently out of print), which was released in limited quantities in 2005, and was released separately in 2020, but it soon sold out and became difficult to obtain.
In addition to the mono sound source used in the box set for the previous first reissue, two types of cassette sound sources recorded in stereo were discovered.
Damaged areas were repaired, including tape speed adjustment, and the three sound sources were mixed and remastered.
For this latest remastering, three different sound sources were mixed, just like the first standalone release, and new AI was used to digitally remaster the album, which succeeded in bringing out the bass, bass drum, and vocals, which were all low in volume on all three masters, more clearly. The album has been reborn as a work where you can feel the difference in the sound image at first listen.
The engineer is Soichiro Nakamura (Peace Music), who has worked on many of Murahachibu's recent albums. This is the first time the album has been released on analog.
The live performance held at Kyoto Kaikan No. 1 Hall on November 11, 1972, came at a time when the band had received offers from major record companies after a successful live performance at Kyoto Maruyama Open-Air Concert Hall in August, about three months prior, and the concert was heavily promoted with the backing and production of the band's first manager, Kimura Hideki.
The opening song "Butsubuse" is a rare take that cannot be heard on other live recordings from this period, "Nn!!" has a funky arrangement, and "Noumiso Hanbun" is a version with vocals.
As the song progresses, the groove gradually increases, and the performance ends with a furious performance like a runaway locomotive. The entire day is brought back to life with a more vivid sound thanks to the latest remastering!
First simultaneous CD and record release.
Additionally, as a first-run limited edition bonus, the record will come with a double-sided poster (12-inch jacket width/vertical size) featuring a glamorous photo taken around the same time as the live performance.
*The CD will be released by GoodLovin' Production.
