LOLOET, an alternative ambient band consisting of former Angerme member Ayaka Wada and others, will release their first album, "Kankyoon," as an LP record on February 11, 2026.
LOLOET was formed in 2023 by vocalist Ayaka Wada, who originally focused on pop music, after encountering improvisational and experimental music while studying abroad in Paris. She then formed the band with musicians in Tokyo in order to realize a more free musical expression.
After about two years of trial and error, they completed this first album, which is based on the theme of "circular resonance," which resonates through the interactions between each member, the audience, and the place where they are.
This album introduces the entire story of LOLOET from their formation to the present, including the previously released albums "SŒUR" and "ELLE."
The tracks on the album are based around experimental ambient music, blending minimal beats, dub, and folky sounds in a seamless blend, just like LOLOET's live performances, where music and improvisation are seamlessly connected.
This technique is influenced by Japanese Zen and rituals. With her experience studying abroad in Paris and the influence of her graduate studies in art (she wants to express the picturesque music of Mark Rothko in LOLOET),
Vocalist Ayaka Wada, who says she values ​​her roots, sometimes transforms into melody and sometimes into poetry reading, and delivers a clear message that includes concerns about themes such as feminism, discrimination, and conflict.

This album, "Kankyoon," is music that is completely abstract, yet somehow pop, and unlike any other.

○ Comment from Ayaka Wada (LOLOET vocalist): We have been performing live with a structure that is half improvisation, half songs. I think that LOLOET's individuality and expression lie in the sounds that we acknowledge each other's sounds, slowly comparing and layering them.
This is true whether you're improvising or composing a song.
The songs on this album were born from our continued improvisation, and also represent the way we coordinate our improvisations as we play the songs.
